Robin St-Gelais (Information Technology Architect)
I have over 20 years’ experience in IT consulting, over 15 years of experience working in Solution and Technology Architecture; over the years, I have developed and mastered many skills related to the IT Architecture and Software Implementation, such as Integration between systems, Integration/Implementation of COTS, Solution Architecture and Software Design, Technology and Integration Architecture. In the last 10 years, I have worked almost exclusively in Health Care sector in Nova Scotia, developing a deep understanding of the many systems involved in the province and the technical challenge of integration of the systems.
I just completed a project as the Lead Project Architect (Technology Architect) for the Drug Information System Implementation (DIS) in Nova Scotia, a key component of electronic health records (EHR) which link pharmacies, hospitals and doctors to patient medication information. My role was to insure that the overall architecture of the DIS solution was well integrated within the existing NS EHR (Electronic Health Record) components, met the business needs of the organization and complied with Canada Health Infoway (CHI) standards. Currently in implementation for various phases (all pharmacies in the province are now connected to the provincial DIS).
Technology: Message based (HL7 V3), Deltaware Medigent, Oracle JCAPS 6.
Previously, I was technology architect on the first part of the EHR implementation, implementing the Client Registry; on that project, I was the lead of the architecture/design of the first interfaces in HL7 v3 in Nova Scotia, as well as conversion of HL7 messages from v2 to v3 and vice versa. My expertise, other than overall understanding of technology and architecture, includes JCAPS, HL7 messaging (v2 and v3), and of course, the NS Health technology standards and infrastructure.
